Four Drug Peddlers Arrested in Srinagar with Heroin, Charas, and Bhang Powder

Police Seize Contraband Substances from Drug Peddlers in Srinagar

Srinagar police arrested four drug peddlers and seized various contraband substances during two separate operations in the city.

A police team from PS Ram Munshi Bagh intercepted three suspicious individuals near the CD Hospital Dalgate checkpoint. The arrested suspects were identified as Yawar Bilal (son of Bilal Ahmad Karni), Maroof Bilal Kolu (son of Bilal Ahmad Kolu), and Shoib Hilal Lawaye (son of Hilal Ahmad Lawaye). Upon search, 9.6 grams of heroin was found in their possession.

In a separate operation, another police team stationed at Sozeith Bund arrested Abid Ahmad Bhat (son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat) from Sozeith Goripora. A search of his belongings led to the recovery of 430 grams of charas and 750 grams of bhang powder concealed in a polythene bag.

Cases under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been registered at the respective police stations, and investigations are ongoing. The Jammu & Kashmir authorities have cautioned those involved in drug trafficking, emphasizing that the law will catch up with them and that offenders will face the full force of the law.
