Four Charged with Drug Trafficking in Searsport, Maine

SEARSPORT, Maine (WABI) — Authorities have arrested five individuals following a drug trafficking investigation in Searsport. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) charged four suspects with drug trafficking after raiding two homes on Dead Brook Lane.

The individuals charged include:

Daniel Carchide, 43, of Searsmont

Alyssa Heroux, 36, of Searsmont

Christopher Babb, 27, of New York

Mujaredeen Hassan, 35, of New York

All four were booked at the Waldo County Jail. A fifth person, Izaiah Cooper, 27, of Searsport, was also taken into custody and later released on bail.

The DEA says undercover agents made controlled drug purchases from the homes before executing search warrants on July 17th and July 25th. During the searches, authorities reportedly seized cocaine, crack cocaine, and $13,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Two teenagers were found at one of the residences and were placed under the care of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for their safety.

The investigation remains ongoing.
