Four Bangladeshi infiltrators and their Indian agent have been arrested in Hanskhali, a region in West Bengal’s Nadia district, near the international border. The arrests were made after local police received a tip-off, leading to the capture of the infiltrators who had entered India several months ago and were attempting to return to Bangladesh late Saturday night.
The Bangladeshi infiltrators have been identified as Jasim Uddin, Baharul Sheikh, Quddus Sardar, and Akalima Sardar. They were detained by local police, who also arrested their Indian agent, Rajib Biswas, from the nearby Bogula area under the Hanskhali Police Station.
During interrogation, Rajib Biswas admitted to facilitating the infiltrators’ entry into India and aiding their return to Bangladesh. It was revealed that Biswas had been involved in organizing illegal border crossings for Bangladeshi nationals and was suspected of being part of a broader racket that could be arranging fake Indian identity documents, including passports.
The police have requested Rajib Biswas’ custody for further questioning to uncover the identities of the ringleaders behind this illegal activity. Additionally, investigators plan to interrogate the arrested Bangladeshi infiltrators to determine the reasons for their initial entry into India and their intentions.
