WATERTOWN, S.D. — Four men from Watertown have been arrested following a multi-month narcotics investigation targeting drug distribution to high school-aged juveniles, the Watertown Police Department reported.
The arrests occurred in two phases, and all suspects were taken into custody without incident. They are being held at the Codington County Detention Center.
November 21 Arrests:
Terance Block, 25 – Charged with selling tobacco to a person under 21, furnishing alcohol to those aged 18-20, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, including to a minor. Bond: $10,000 cash.
James Chase, 34 – Charged with distribution of a controlled drug, possession with intent to distribute over one pound of marijuana, maintaining a place for drug sales, and a parole violation. Bond: $20,000 cash.
December 12 Arrests:
Jacob Martinez, 20 – Charged with distribution of a controlled drug, possession with intent to distribute marijuana to a minor, maintaining a place for drug sales, and violations involving tobacco and alcohol. Bond: $10,000 cash.
Steven Jackson, 34 – Charged with distribution of marijuana to a minor, industrial hemp sale/distribution, and obstructing a law enforcement officer. Bond: $10,000 cash.
The Watertown Police Department emphasized that protecting the community’s youth remains a top priority and reaffirmed its commitment to investigating illegal drug activity, particularly when it involves juveniles.
As with all criminal matters, the suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
