Tilokewala, Sirsa — Villagers of Tilokewala in Odhan staged a road blockade Monday morning, demanding the immediate arrest of all involved in the recent murder of 22‑year‑old Sunny at a local hotel. The protest came after police confirmed the apprehension of four suspects.
Sunny, a resident of Farhada village in Barhara block, was fatally stabbed following a dispute with a group of youths reportedly under the influence of drugs. The incident occurred at Mahavir Tola under Town police station in Ara two days earlier.
Kalanwali DSP Sandeep Dhankhar, responding to the blockade, announced that Mamna Singh, Jaskaran Singh, and Inderjit Singh of Tilokewala, and Kuldeep Singh of Dadu village, have been arrested. He reassured the crowd that legal proceedings are underway, and those still involved will not be spared.
Three to four others involved in the incident have been identified, said the police, and arrests are expected soon. The protest was lifted after about 90 minutes once assurances were made.
That evening, following post‑mortem procedures, Sunny’s body was brought home. His death and the subsequent arrest sparked grief and relief, as villagers and family demanded justice.
