HAVANA, Fla. — Four arrests have been made in connection with the shooting of Florida State University football player Ethan Pritchard, who remains in critical condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed the arrest of Caron Miller, Jayden Bodison, Germany Atkins, and a juvenile suspect. Miller, Bodison, and the juvenile face charges of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Atkins was charged with violating probation.
FDLE agents said Pritchard, a true freshman linebacker from Sanford, Florida, had been driving two family members—a grown adult and a three-year-old child—home after a family cookout in Havana when he was ambushed.
“Ethan was not, I say, not doing anything wrong in that area,” Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young stated. “They were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” added Keith Wilmer from the FDLE.
Pritchard was rushed to the intensive care unit and remains in critical but stable condition.
Three suspects, including the juvenile, were arrested following the execution of multiple simultaneous warrants early Wednesday morning, according to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office. The fourth suspect voluntarily surrendered later that day.
Authorities believe these suspects were also involved in a shooting in Havana five days earlier.
The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement all collaborated on the arrests.
To honor their injured teammate, FSU players wore wristbands with the number 35 during recent games.
