by Ananya Mehta

Badagada police have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of Ola driver Bidyadhar Sahoo, whose body was found in Chandaka forest near Bhubaneswar. The arrested accused — N. Dillip Kumar, Ramesh Chandra Behera, K. Rabindra, and Deepak Kumar Sahukar — all residents of Parlakhemundi, face charges including kidnapping, abetment to suicide, and destruction of evidence. A woman accomplice has also been booked under similar charges.

Bidyadhar was abducted from Bhubaneswar on September 15. His family filed a missing person complaint after which the kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore. His body was later found in the forest, triggering a thorough investigation.

Police suspect more than eight people are involved in the crime. Ongoing raids aim to capture the absconding accused. While the exact motive remains under investigation, financial extortion is considered a prime factor.
