Four Arrested in North Vernon Drug and Theft Investigation

Search warrants uncover meth, heroin, and stolen property

NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Four individuals have been arrested following a major drug and theft investigation led by the North Vernon Police Department (NVPD).

The investigation began after a burglary was reported at a storage unit on West Hayden Pike. NVPD officers executed two separate search warrants at different locations connected to the case. Narcotics were allegedly discovered at both sites, leading to further drug-related charges.

Arrests from the first search warrant include:

Anthony Herr: Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Theft (Level 6 Felony), and Possession of Marijuana.

John Bates: Found on the property with an active in-county warrant and additionally charged with Possession of Heroin.

From the second location:

Melissa Linscott: Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Dealing Methamphetamine, Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Obstruction of Justice.

Darrell Linscott: Arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
