In a significant anti-drug operation, the Crime Branch Anti-Narcotics Squad arrested four accused and seized MD powder and related assets valued at Rs4.67 lakh on Saturday, May 17.

The bust occurred between 9:30 am and 11 am near the water tank at Ujjwal Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Kapil Nagar Police Station.

Acting on precise intelligence about a planned drug deal, the squad set a trap and intercepted two vehicles—a bike and a scooter—suspected to be involved in the sale. The riders, identified as Shrijan alias Happy Brijesh Pandey (22), Sanskar Laxman Yadav (25), and Raunak Siddharth Chaudhary (19), all residents of Nagpur, were stopped and questioned.

A search of the vehicles yielded 12 grams of MD powder in a ziplock bag, three mobile phones, Rs2,000 in cash, and two two-wheelers.

During interrogation, the trio disclosed the involvement of a fourth accomplice, Pritam Bam Bole (21), also from Nagpur, who was soon arrested.

All four were booked under Sections 8(a), 22(b), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Police Commissioner Ravinder Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, and Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil. The Crime Branch team was led by DCP Rahul Maknikar and ACP Abhijit Patil, with officers Gajanan Gulhane, Manoj Neware, Shailesh Dobole, and others playing key roles.

The accused and seized items were handed over to Kapil Nagar Police for further investigation.
