Four Arrested in Kalachowki Gold Heist in Mumbai

Security guard part of gang; Rs50L gold recovered

Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg police have arrested four people in connection with a robbery at a gold manufacturing unit in Kalachowki, Central Mumbai, where 400 grams of gold worth Rs50 lakh were stolen. Shockingly, the security guard, Rohit Kumar Sharma (20), was involved in the crime and initially misled investigators.

The arrested include:

Manish Rathod (24)

Bhagwan Paraskar alias Mama (60)

Mangal Kashyap (20)

Rohit Kumar Sharma (20) – the on-duty security guard

Police are still searching for Irfan Shaikh, the key mastermind behind the heist.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night at Busa Industrial Estate, Sewri, when three men posing as delivery agents entered the gold unit. They stabbed Rohit Sharma in the thigh and looted 400 grams of gold ornaments from a drawer. Rohit managed to alert nearby workers, who rushed him to KEM Hospital.

A case has been registered under Sections 309, 331, and 333 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the Indian Arms Act. Police are continuing the investigation to locate the mastermind and any additional accomplices.
