In a series of successful operations, the Indore Crime Branch arrested four individuals allegedly involved in the illegal narcotics trade. The police recovered a substantial quantity of illegal substances, including approximately 70 grams of MD drugs, 5.55 kilograms of cannabis, and a luxury SUV. The total estimated international market value of the seized drugs is around Rs 25 lakh.

The arrested individuals were caught during two back-to-back operations conducted by the police. The first arrest occurred when the police intercepted a suspicious vehicle on CB Scheme No. 140 Main Road in Indore. Inside the vehicle, police found Annu Chauhan (37), Aman Singh (21), and Saurabh Singh (20), all residents of Pithampur in Dhar district. Upon interrogation, Chauhan admitted to being an autorickshaw driver who had turned to drug dealing to fund his addiction. The police seized 69.42 grams of MD drugs and a car from the suspects. A case was filed under Section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

In the second operation, the Crime Branch acted on a tip-off and arrested Jivan Solanki (42), a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Indore. Solanki was caught near the Infosys campus on Super Corridor Road with 5.55 kilograms of cannabis. He confessed to bringing the drugs from another district with the intention of selling them for personal profit. Police have filed a case under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act for his involvement in trafficking cannabis.

All the arrested suspects have been taken into custody for further questioning. The police are continuing their investigation to trace other members of the drug network involved in the illegal trade. The operations highlight the authorities’ ongoing commitment to curbing drug-related activities in Indore and dismantling trafficking rings operating in the region.
