Delhi Police arrested four men on Thursday in connection with the violent robbery that occurred at a businessman’s farmhouse in Ghitorni, South Delhi, earlier this week. On Monday, four masked assailants—at least two posing as security guards—stormed the farmhouse, held businessman Karan Chopra hostage at gunpoint, and stole Rs30 lakh in cash along with a gold chain.
Among those arrested were two drivers employed by Chopra, identified as Satender Singh (34) from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and Anil (54) from South Delhi. The other two arrested suspects were Santosh Tripathi, 40, from Madhya Pradesh, and Shammi, a Delhi resident.
The police recovered Rs3.15 lakh from Singh, which was his share of the stolen money, and Rs95,000 from Anil. Tripathi was found with Rs1.95 lakh, while Shammi had Rs10,000. These amounts were seized by the authorities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel said the interrogation of the arrested men is ongoing as the police work to apprehend the remaining accused who are still at large.
