Four Arrested in Evansville Drug Trafficking Investigation

Authorities Seize Synthetic Drugs, Marijuana, and Cash

by Amelia Crawford

EVANSVILLE, IN — Four people have been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking operation in Evansville, following a months-long investigation by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents, the investigation began in June and targeted a network of drug traffickers operating within the city. Detectives identified Brian McCurry, Frank Jackson, and Zaine Conner as key suspects, with both McCurry and Jackson reportedly on supervised release at the time.

On Tuesday, search warrants were obtained for three Evansville homes located on:

The 100 block of North Rotherwood Avenue

The 1600 block of Fares Avenue

The 4400 block of Taylor Avenue

The following day, Frank Johnson and Davina Jackson were stopped by detectives after leaving the Fares Avenue residence. Johnson reportedly admitted that synthetic drugs and a large sum of cash were inside the home. Jackson told detectives she had been receiving synthetic cannabinoid chemicals from McCurry for redistribution.

Inside the Fares Avenue home, police found:

139.2 grams of synthetic cannabinoids

1,279 grams of Damiana leaf (used as a synthetic drug base)

Two digital scales with residue

Five sheets of wax-like paper soaked in synthetic cannabinoids

Glassware with chemical residue

Both Johnson and Jackson were booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Detectives then executed a second warrant at the North Rotherwood Avenue home, where Brian McCurry and Destiny Minton were found living with four juvenile children.

The search of that home revealed:

18 pounds of suspected marijuana

Half a pound of psilocybin mushrooms

170 grams of Suboxone strips

13.5 pounds of synthetic cannabinoids

A large quantity of cash

The Indiana Department of Child Services took custody of the four children due to unsafe living conditions and exposure to narcotics.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be forthcoming.
