Four Arrested in Davie County Walmart Theft Spree

DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies from the Davie County Sheriff’s Office arrested four individuals in connection with a series of larcenies at Walmart stores across North Carolina. The arrests occurred on Dec. 1, 2025, at the Mocksville Walmart on Cooper Creek Drive.

The suspects—Jacob Taylor Reid, 38; Severiano Alonso Mata, 26; Tiffany Cornelius Reid, 41; and Alexandra Marie Soma, 31, all from Charlotte—were apprehended after deputies responded to a larceny in progress. Authorities reported the group was loading merchandise into a vehicle in the parking lot.

Investigators determined the group had committed multiple thefts over the past 90 days, with stolen goods valued at over $21,145. A K-9 unit also detected narcotics in the suspects’ vehicle.

Charges and bonds:

Jacob Reid: Felony organized retail theft, possession of controlled substances; $35,000 bond

Severiano Mata: Similar charges; $25,000 bond

Tiffany Reid: Organized retail theft, drug paraphernalia; $5,000 bond

Alexandra Soma: Organized retail theft, drug paraphernalia; $4,000 bond, plus an outstanding Mecklenburg County warrant

All four suspects are scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on Jan. 15, 2026.
