CHICO, Calif. — Four individuals have been arrested following a months-long human trafficking investigation, according to the Chico Police Department.
Detectives launched the investigation in September 2025 after receiving information about the alleged sexual abuse of a teenage girl. Authorities said the victim had been introduced to Tycoreyan Kadeem James, 33, by Destiny Rose Anne Ferrini, 21. Investigators allege James exploited and trafficked the teen within Chico.
Police said video evidence, reportedly recorded by Ferrini, showed the girl being sexually assaulted by James and two additional men. One was identified as Kyle John Grinnell, 33. The third suspect, Zachary Richmond Johnson, 37, was identified using image comparison software.
Throughout the investigation, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office provided personnel and investigative support. Detectives also worked with the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force to execute a search warrant at Johnson’s residence. Authorities reported finding evidence confirming the videos were recorded there, along with more than half a pound of cocaine, evidence of drug sales and multiple firearms.
All four suspects were arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail. Police said the teenage victim’s identity will not be released to protect her safety and privacy.
James is being held without bail and faces eight felony charges, including rape by intoxication, lewd acts on a child aged 14 or 15, and pimping of a minor under 16.
Johnson is being held on $395,000 bail and faces seven felony charges, including rape in concert, lewd acts on a minor and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
Grinnell is being held on $490,000 bail and faces five felony charges and one misdemeanor, including rape in concert and child abuse likely to produce great bodily injury or death.
Ferrini is being held on $365,000 bail and faces five felony charges, including unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, use of a minor for obscene material and possession of child pornography.
