Four Arrested for Violent Attack During Homowo Festival in Oyarifa

Police Investigate Machete Attack That Left Three Injured

On September 8, 2024, the Ghana Police Service arrested four individuals in connection with a violent assault that left three people injured in Oyarifa, a suburb of Accra.

The suspects, identified as Latif Bako, Ebenezer Ewuzie, Stephen Owusu, and Ebenezer Adjei, are accused of attacking the victims with machetes during the Homowo festival celebrations in Oyarifa on September 7, 2024.

The victims, along with suspect Ebenezer Adjei, who also suffered injuries, are currently receiving medical treatment.

Latif Bako, Stephen Owusu, and Ebenezer Ewuzie are in police custody and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Authorities are working to apprehend other individuals involved in the attack, who remain at large.

The police have assured the public that anyone found disturbing the peace will be arrested and held accountable through the legal process.
