Four Arrested for Gold Theft from Rajasekar’s House in Trichy

18 Sovereigns of Gold Stolen from Bhima Nagar Residence

Four individuals were arrested on Saturday for the theft of gold jewellery worth several lakhs from the residence of S Rajasekar in Bhima Nagar near Kooni Bazaar.

The incident occurred on Friday when Rajasekar and his family, who had traveled to Palani in Dindigul district on May 29, returned home to find their house locked from the inside. Upon inspection, they discovered that their home had been burgled, and approximately 18 sovereigns of gold jewellery were missing.

A complaint was promptly lodged at Palakkarai police station under BNS Sections 331-4 (trespass) and 305 (theft). The police began investigations using surveillance footage and other leads.

Acting on the evidence, Inspector Basil Prem Anand and his team arrested four suspects from Kooni Bazaar — P Sathish (20), R Rahul (25), C Vetriselvam (20), and G Naveenthakrishnan (28).

The accused have been presented before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The police investigation is still ongoing.
