Four Arrested for Cow and Buffalo Theft in Kodagu District

Gonikoppa Police Nab Four in Kerala for Livestock Theft

Gonikoppa police have arrested four individuals in connection with the theft of a cow and a buffalo in Kodagu district. The accused — Ubaid KM (37) of Channayankaote, Virajpet taluk; Gajan Ganapathy (25) of Sita Colony, Ponnampet taluk; Haneef CE (36) of Begur village; and Ajanas (21) of Manandavadi — were apprehended on July 6 in the Kannur region of Kerala.

The thefts took place on June 24, with a cow stolen from Nokya village and a buffalo from Bhadragola village. A special police team, led by Virajpet DSP Mahesh Kumar S and including Gonikoppa police inspector Shivaraj R Mudhol and sub-inspector Pradeep Kumar, conducted the investigation.

SP K Ramarajan confirmed the seizure of Rs 7,000 in cash, a jeep, and a van from the accused. Additionally, a knife and three mobile phones suspected to have been used in the crime were also recovered.
