ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Car theft-related charges against former Prince George’s County Police officer Sierra Alston were dropped on Thursday, court documents reveal.
Alston, who had been arrested last October, was implicated in the theft of three BMWs from the SIXT rental car company at Reagan National Airport. According to court records, the case was part of a larger investigation involving the theft of 30 vehicles from the rental company’s lot.
Alston was linked to the stolen cars through a variety of evidence: her police jacket and documents were discovered in one vehicle, her phone’s Bluetooth was connected to another, and she was captured with the third car in D.C. police body camera footage.
When confronted by investigators last spring, Alston reportedly claimed that she had taken an Uber and lost her police jacket. However, when it was revealed that one of the stolen cars was parked outside her home, she allegedly denied living there.
Following her arrest, Alston was placed on suspension without pay from the Prince George’s County Police Department. Alston had been assigned to the Bureau of Patrol and had been with the department since 2023.
While the charges against her were dropped in Arlington, the investigation into the theft of multiple vehicles continues.
