PHOENIX — Eric Chapman, 43, a former teacher and coach at Cortez High School, has been indicted on 20 felony counts, including sexual conduct with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
Chapman is accused of filming sexual interactions on the high school campus, including in classrooms, the locker room, and even in his personal vehicle. The victims reportedly include two current students, ages 16 and 17, as well as a former student.
Investigators also discovered explicit files involving minors on Chapman’s phone and computer. The authorities have said that the charges are related to activities that took place on school grounds.
Chapman is currently being held in jail with a $250,000 cash bond. He faces serious consequences if convicted on all charges, which include multiple counts related to sexual conduct and exploitation.
The case has raised concerns about the safety of students and the trust placed in educators and coaches. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter and urge anyone with further information to come forward.
