A former Pace Academy teacher, Marshall Lopez, 33, was arrested Monday on charges of sexual battery involving two teenage students earlier this year.
Lopez was booked into Fulton County Jail on two counts of sexual battery against a minor. Warrants allege the misconduct occurred at the school between March and May.
According to reports, Lopez allegedly inappropriately touched female students after class. One student reported three incidents where Lopez allegedly assaulted her following a scolding for poor academic performance. Another student told investigators Lopez caught her cheating on a test and forced her to choose a punishment, which led to an alleged assault. She also accused Lopez of hugging her and inappropriate touching.
Fred Assaf, Head of School, issued a statement regarding the arrest and the media coverage of the situation.
