SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) — A food service driver has been arrested after allegedly delivering methamphetamine to an inmate at the Monroe County Jail, authorities said Monday.

Zechariah Borden, a driver for Aramark, was caught on jail surveillance footage on Thursday handing over a package containing meth to inmate Nicholas Hage, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

At the time, Hage was assisting with the food delivery inside the jail. He had previously been charged in 2023 with 1st-degree reckless homicide for allegedly delivering drugs that resulted in a death and is currently awaiting trial.

Following the incident, Borden was arrested and charged with delivering an article to an inmate and possession/delivery of methamphetamine. A judge set his cash bond at $1,200 during a hearing on Monday.

Officials said additional charges against Hage are being referred to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office in light of the incident.
