Floyd Mayweather Jr., the retired boxing champion, has been accused of fraud in Miami by businessman Jayson Winer. According to a lawsuit filed on September 6, 2025, in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Winer claims Mayweather promised exclusive FaceTime calls with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk but failed to deliver.
Winer alleges that the scam began early in 2025 when Mayweather and his real estate partner, Jona Rechnitz, offered access to Musk for $4 million. After Winer declined, Mayweather’s team proposed a direct text message to Musk for $1 million, which never happened. Later, Winer agreed to a supposed video call with Musk, providing two luxury watches valued at $160,000 and $20,000 in cash.
A man claiming to be Mayweather’s security guard collected the items from Winer’s Miami home, but the promised FaceTime call never took place. Winer is now seeking damages and a jury trial.
The lawsuit highlights Rechnitz’s involvement and his history of legal troubles, raising further questions about the legitimacy of the scheme.
