A Florida man visiting Louisville was arrested on December 28 after allegedly shooting at two police officers who responded to a call at a Germantown Airbnb.

Tombe Juma-Kose Thomas, 35, faces charges of attempted murder after reportedly firing through a bathroom window at Louisville Metro Police officers. The incident occurred when Thomas, who was staying at the Airbnb with his girlfriend, called the police claiming he had locked himself in the bathroom and believed his girlfriend had brought someone into the home.

When officers arrived and knocked on the bathroom window, announcing themselves, Thomas allegedly shot in their direction. The officers were placed in imminent danger, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Thomas was apprehended shortly after without resistance and allegedly referred to the gunfire as a “warning shot.” He was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail, with his bond set at $250,000. Thomas is scheduled to appear in court on January 7.
