JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Florida physician was arrested last week after police accused her of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a Jacksonville department store.
Lindsey Jae Minshew, 40, was taken into custody on Jan. 23 and charged with grand theft involving property valued between $750 and $4,999, according to online records from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
Authorities allege the incident occurred at a Target store on River City Drive, where an employee reported that merchandise totaling $2,716.61 was stolen. The specific items were not disclosed in the arrest report reviewed by PEOPLE.
Police said surveillance and investigative records show Minshew’s black 2024 Porsche 911 arrived at the shopping center approximately 30 minutes before she entered the store. During the arrest, officers also located the vehicle, which had previously been reported stolen, according to JSO.
Records from the Florida Department of Health indicate that Minshew has been licensed to practice medicine in Florida since January 2012. She was released from custody on Jan. 24. It was not immediately known whether she has retained legal representation.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and Minshew is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
