LEON COUNTY, Fla. — A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two homicides in Leon County and another in Valdosta, Georgia, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
Flay Rollins faces charges of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies identified Rollins as a suspect during the investigation of a homicide at 150 Bethel By The Lake Drive, where a woman was found dead from gunshot wounds. While the investigation was ongoing, the U.S. Marshals Task Force informed deputies that Rollins had been located and taken into custody at the Leon County Detention Facility in connection with a Lowndes County, Georgia, homicide warrant.
According to authorities, Rollins admitted to the Bethel By The Lake homicide while in custody and disclosed details of a second homicide in Leon County. Using information provided by Rollins, investigators discovered another woman dead from gunshot wounds in the Apalachicola National Forest. The Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the woman was pregnant at the time of her death.
Records from the Leon County Clerk of Courts indicate that Rollins is a repeat offender, with a criminal history dating back to 1994.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as more evidence is developed.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
