Suspects face grand theft and conspiracy charges

by Sophia Bennett

Five Los Angeles residents were arrested in connection with a series of UPS package thefts across Ventura County earlier this year. From April through October 2025, multiple cities in the county reported stolen packages from UPS delivery vehicles, resulting in an estimated loss of approximately $70,000.

Detectives with the Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force (VCORTTF) identified the suspects as Los Angeles residents. On November 14, 2025, investigators executed warrants at three locations in Los Angeles, arresting three suspects. Additional surveillance led to the identification and arrest of two more, bringing the total to five.

The individuals arrested are Herson Danilo Gutierrez-Ferrufino, 36; Chris Justin Ortiz, 24; Alejandro Andres Delgado-Mera, 37; Leivin Giovanny Vera-Diaz, 39; and Ever Lisandro Lopez, 38. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office has charged them with felony counts of grand theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of burglary tools.

The suspects are being held at the Ventura County Jail. Authorities indicated that additional suspects remain outstanding and further arrests are expected.
