Five men, including a D-Pharma degree holder from Mumbai, were arrested in Maharashtra on charges related to narcotics under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The arrests came after villagers suspected their activities and attacked them.
The accused had rented a house owned by Laxman Fasar, while a sixth suspect remains absconding. The arrested men include Sachin Jaiswal (24), Javed Shaikh (38), Mohammed Zafar Mohammed Ali (39) from Malad, Amit Kori (23) from Sion, and Bharat Jadhav (30) from Shahpur, Thane.
All five have been remanded to police custody for a week as the investigation continues.
