The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team, along with Madhura Nagar police, have busted an international online gaming and Satta betting racket operating from Madhura Nagar. Five individuals have been arrested, and police have seized cash worth Rs 1.55 lakh, Rs 2,13,697 from bank accounts linked to betting activities, and various other materials.
The accused — Sonule Srikanth, Gurle Harish, Gurle Satish Kumar, Sonule Thirupathi, and Ade Vinod — are all natives of Kagaz Nagar, Komaram Bheem District, Adilabad. Police said the group operated from a rented flat in Sri Divya Enclave, Madhura Nagar. They organized betting through online platforms, supervising the registration of victims on their gaming websites.
According to DCP YVS Sudheendra, the accused opened bank accounts and obtained SIM cards in the names of poor and needy people by offering them money. These accounts were used to transfer money from victims. Initially, victims were lured with promises of nominal profits, but as investments grew, losses mounted. The accused manipulated gaming outcomes on their websites to cheat the punters.
Police seized three MacBooks used to create online gaming websites, a tablet, two color printers, 50 betting pamphlets related to Satta and Matka, three betting charts, and 18 cell phones used for running the betting operation.
The gang had rented the flat at Sri Divya Enclave for Rs 25,000 monthly three months ago. They created WhatsApp and Facebook accounts under the name “nitishkumar” and ran a YouTube channel titled to promote their illegal betting business. Each punter was charged Rs 1,000 as a registration fee.
