Five Arrested in Jalandhar for Heroin & Narcotic Pills

Police seize heroin and Tramadol tablets in multiple operations

In a sustained drive against narcotics under the NDPS Act, Jalandhar police have arrested five individuals in separate operations across Nakodar and Phillaur, recovering heroin and intoxicating tablets.

Sandeep Kumar alias Sonu and Pradeep Singh alias Jona, residents of Sarih village, were apprehended near Dargah Nogajja Pir Road, Nurmahal, with 12.49 grams of heroin and a motorcycle. Cases were registered under Sections 21-B, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act. Police are investigating the supply chain and links to larger drug networks.

During patrol near National College canal bridge, Charanjeet Singh alias Lattu, a Nakodar resident, was arrested with 37 loose narcotic tablets. He faces charges under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act, and investigations continue to trace the source of the unlabelled pills.

In village Samrari, two women, Priya and Suhana, were arrested with 96 narcotic tablets, including 10 strips of Tramadol Hydrochloride Tablets 100 mg (Clolomidol-100 SR). Cases under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act were registered, and the police are probing the intended distribution and procurement channels.

Authorities have emphasized that intensified anti-drug operations will continue across rural and urban pockets of Jalandhar district, and strict action will be taken against those involved in narcotics trafficking.
