In a swift breakthrough, Guntur district police arrested five individuals within a week in connection with a high-value burglary at the residence of Dhulipalla Pramila Devi in Chintalapudi village, under the jurisdiction of Ponnur Rural Police Station.
The Burglary
The incident occurred in the early hours of February 16, when unidentified persons broke into the locked home of Pramila Devi. The accused allegedly forced open an iron safe and stole:
336 grams of gold
10.5 kilograms of silver
Rs1 lakh in cash
The total value of the stolen property was estimated at Rs69.25 lakh.
Investigation and Arrests
After receiving the complaint, the police launched an intensive investigation. CCTV footage, fingerprint analysis, call data records (CDR), and mobile tower location tracking helped identify the suspects.
The arrested individuals include:
Sattenapalli Rakesh (25) – a habitual offender with 34 prior theft cases
Kokkiligadda Asirvadam
Jalli Dain Kumar alias Ashish
Nakka Durga Prasad
Gudipudi Raghu
Two additional suspects remain absconding.
Police revealed that the prime accused had surveyed the house during the day and returned between 1:30 am and 2:30 am in a stolen Tata Indica to execute the burglary. The gang reportedly targeted locked houses at night and sold stolen valuables to fund their vices.
