Five men were arrested by Delhi police for the abduction and murder of 25-year-old Sonu, also known as Sameer Khan, in Swaroop Nagar, northwest Delhi. The incident stemmed from a monetary dispute, police confirmed.
On June 11, authorities received a call reporting a naked body discovered near 35 Foot Road in Nangli. The victim, Sonu, was found with multiple injuries, prompting a murder investigation.
Further inquiries revealed that on June 10, Sonu and a friend were abducted from Bhalswa Dairy by five suspects: Manish alias Baba, Mohammad Sahil, Arjun, Pawan, and Sunny. The group took Sonu to Manish’s office, where he was severely beaten over a loan-related conflict. Sonu’s friend was coerced into leaving after being falsely assured of Sonu’s release.
Subsequently, Sonu was moved to Manish’s godown, where he endured further beatings with a wooden stick, which caused fatal injuries. Police used CCTV footage, call records, and other technical evidence to identify and arrest all five accused.
Authorities also recovered two vehicles, blood-stained clothes, and the weapon allegedly used in the murder as part of the investigation.
