Festus Arasa Omwamba Arrested in Human Trafficking Case

Suspect allegedly lured victims with fake European jobs

by Sophia Bennett

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested 33-year-old Festus Arasa Omwamba in connection with a human trafficking syndicate. The arrest was carried out by detectives based at Moyale Police Station.

Omwamba is accused of being part of a criminal network that targets unsuspecting job seekers with promises of legitimate employment opportunities in European countries. Victims, however, reportedly end up in illegal and hazardous working conditions upon arrival.

DCI stated that Omwamba is a key player in a broader syndicate exploiting vulnerable individuals, stripping them of their dignity and safety. He is currently in custody and undergoing processing ahead of his impending arraignment.

The arrest highlights the DCI’s commitment to dismantling human trafficking networks and protecting vulnerable victims from exploitation under the guise of legitimate employment opportunities.
