Redding, Calif. — A 49-year-old felon, Joshua White, was arrested on Halloween night in Redding after officers discovered methamphetamine, a loaded firearm, and ammunition during a traffic stop.
According to the Redding Police Department (RPD), officers with the Neighborhood Police Unit were patrolling the area near Parkview Avenue and Akard Avenue when they noticed White driving. After stopping the vehicle, the officers found nearly one ounce of methamphetamine, along with a loaded handgun and ammunition in White’s possession.
White, who has a criminal history including prior felony convictions, is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. As a result, he was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on multiple charges, including possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sales, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. White also faced charges for possessing a loaded concealed firearm in his vehicle.
