Jonesboro, Ark. – A coordinated law enforcement operation has led to the arrest of four men allegedly involved in ATM robberies across multiple southeastern states. Among those arrested was Felix Josue Rendon-Garcia, who is also wanted for robbery in Georgia.
Authorities from the Jonesboro Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, the Drug Task Force, Homeland Security, and agencies in Memphis tracked the suspects after an ATM was targeted in Jonesboro. A break in the case came when local Flock camera technology flagged a vehicle license plate tied to the group on April 3.
Investigators tracked the suspects to a Jonesboro hotel and conducted a traffic stop, detaining Rendon-Garcia. A subsequent search of the hotel room led to the arrests of Jose David Rivas Sifontes, Juan Jose Marin Garcia, and Alexander Jose Marquez Caraballo.
Law enforcement officials recovered over $46,000 in cash and several tools used for ATM break-ins. Authorities confirmed the men are connected to Tren de Aragua, a known foreign terrorist organization.
All suspects were booked into the Craighead County Detention Center and are being held for ICE and Georgia authorities. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is now pursuing federal charges against them.
