Seraikela police have arrested six people, including the father-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law of a woman found murdered in Dalbhanga village. The victim, 35-year-old Mogro Munda, was discovered with her throat slit on June 13.
According to SP Mukesh Lunayat, investigations revealed that Mogro’s father-in-law, Soyana Munda, suspected her of practicing sorcery, blaming her for the family’s frequent illnesses. To eliminate her, Soyana, his daughter Doly Munda, and nephew Sukhlal Munda hired three contract killers for Rs 2 lakh.
Police have arrested all six accused, including the three hired killers. They also seized the murder weapon—a knife—and Rs 1.25 in cash from the contract killers.
The case highlights the dangerous consequences of superstition and the brutal violence inflicted within families. Police are continuing their investigation.
