A man and his two sons were arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 23 lakh in cash from Harmira Footwear Company, police said on Wednesday.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Syed Ali Abbas, the theft was reported on Monday from the company premises. Following a prompt investigation, police recovered a total of Rs 97 lakh from the accused.

The accused have been identified as Akash and Neeraj, both sons, and their father, Ashok. Both Akash and Neeraj had previously worked at the firm, with Neeraj having resigned a few days before the incident, while Akash was still employed.

Police stated that the two brothers allegedly entered the company premises on Monday night and stole cash. Despite the company reporting a loss of Rs 23 lakh, police managed to recover Rs 97 lakh from the trio.

The accused reportedly admitted that the theft was committed to repay personal debts, according to the DCP. A case has been registered at the MM Gate Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
