Fatehgarh Sahib police have dismantled a large interstate drug trafficking network, arresting six individuals across Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Authorities seized a massive stockpile of narcotics including 256,846 pharmaceutical tablets, 21,364 drug injections, and 738 vials of Avil during coordinated raids.
A case has been registered under Sections 22-C, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
SSP Ravjot Grewal revealed that a detailed investigation utilizing digital forensic tools led to the apprehension of key suspects operating across state borders. The trafficking route spanned from Uttar Pradesh to Punjab via Haryana.
The crackdown began on January 27, when the CIA Sirhind team arrested Parvinder Singh from Cholta Khurd village in SAS Nagar, Punjab, recovering a large quantity of drugs. Parvinder, both a drug addict and supplier, procured drugs from Sahil in Yamunanagar, Haryana, distributing them in Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali.
On January 29, Sahil was arrested in Yamunanagar with narcotics. He disclosed that he sourced drugs from Pankaj Chaudhary, a resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Following this lead, police raided Saharanpur, arresting Pankaj and his partner Shubham, and recovered a large stock from an illegal warehouse. Further raids in Meerut, UP, led to the arrest of Abdul alias Wajid. On February 4, two more suspects, Shahid and Wasim, were arrested in Meerut, with additional narcotics seized.
Several vehicles, including a car, bike, and scooter, were confiscated as part of the operation. Police confirmed that Parvinder Singh, Sahil, and Wasim have previous criminal records with registered cases.
