Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two drug peddlers in south Kashmir, recovering narcotic substances in coordinated raids as part of their ongoing anti-drug crackdown.
In Mattan: Acting on reliable intelligence, a team from Mattan Police Station and the executive magistrate conducted a search at the home of Farooq Ahmad Kumar, son of Mohd Subhan Kumar, of Khul Chohar, Mattan. Authorities seized nearly 10 kg of charas powder worth approximately Rs 2.16 650 and arrested Farooq under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
In Pahalgam: A checkpoint at Langabal led to the apprehension of Shahrukh Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohd Ramzan Sheikh, of Sheikh Mohalla, Sallar. Police recovered 120 g of charas from him and filed a case under the NDPS Act at Pahalgam Police Station, taking the contraband into custody.
Both suspects are currently held in custody, and investigations are underway to trace supply networks behind the large-scale narcotics operations.
