CULLMAN, Ala. – Stanley Baker, 40, of Falkville, was arrested by the Cullman Police Department in connection with a theft reported at the Red Roof Inn on Saturday, August 2.

Using surveillance footage and investigative work, officers identified Baker as the suspect. Shortly after the theft, during an unrelated traffic stop conducted by Shift 2B officers, Baker was arrested on outstanding warrants and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia charges. At that time, officers did not realize he was linked to the theft.

During the stop, officers noticed several tools in Baker’s vehicle commonly associated with burglary but did not have enough probable cause to arrest him for possession of burglary tools immediately.

Following further investigation, Shift 1B officers obtained and executed a search warrant on Baker’s vehicle, where multiple burglary tools believed to be used in the theft were recovered.

Baker was formally charged with fourth-degree theft of property and possession of burglary tools. He remains in custody.

The Cullman Police Department praised the teamwork and thorough investigative efforts of officers from both shifts that led to the case’s resolution.
