A verbal spat turned deadly in the Camp area on Tuesday night when 30-year-old interior designer Faisal Farukh Khan was stabbed near the New Modikhana mosque. The incident occurred around 10:15 pm, and Lashkar Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the case.

According to police, the altercation began when Khan called out to Shahbaz Chand Shaikh, a 36-year-old resident of Shadab Tower, Chudaman Talim, as “Shibba” while Shaikh rode past on a motorcycle. What started as light teasing escalated into a heated argument. A group of people then assaulted Khan with a knife, causing multiple stab wounds to his chest, hands, and back. Khan later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. CCTV footage captured the entire incident.

The murder case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act based on a complaint filed by Khan’s cousin, Adil Arif Khan (34). The accused have been booked under Sections 302 (murder), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 149 (unlawful assembly), and relevant provisions of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.

The arrested suspects are:

Ali Abbas Ashraf Ali Syed (25)

Police inspector Santosh Khetmalis, in-charge of Lashkar police station, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the attack was carried out at the instance of Talib Ali Sayyed and Ashraf Ali Sayyed.

Records show that Talib Ali Sayyed has a criminal history, including 18 cases of murder and attempted murder registered at multiple police stations. He was previously arrested by the Anti‑Dacoity Cell (ANC) in October 2016 in connection with a seized firearm.
