JACKSON, Miss. – Former professional football player Quinton Culberson was arrested for breaking into a commercial building in Jackson and has now been ordered into rehab.
On Thursday, the 40-year-old appeared in Jackson Municipal Court, where Judge Jeffrey Reynolds directed that he be transported to Care Ministries. As part of his bond conditions, Culberson must remain sober and stay at the facility until formally released.
Culberson played three seasons as a linebacker for the St. Louis Rams and one season with the Carolina Panthers. He also played college football at Mississippi State University.
Court records reveal a history of criminal activity and addiction issues. In July 2017, he was sentenced to five years in prison (with four suspended) and three years of supervised release for a 2016 DUI. At that time, Judge Bill Gowan ordered his release into a mandatory drug and alcohol treatment program.
Culberson has faced multiple arrests in recent years:
October 2022: Arrested for two counts each of auto burglary, business burglary, and grand larceny. He was released on a $50,000 bond, and the case was later transferred to Hinds County Court with no further action.
June 2025: Arrested for allegedly breaking into a home at 2307 Ladde St., attempting to steal a leaf blower, chainsaw, batteries, and a charger. Bond was set at $50,000.
October 2024: A case was remanded to Culberson’s file after he agreed to participate in the Hinds County Drug Court Program.
Additionally, in 2019, Culberson was indicted by a grand jury on charges including aggravated assault, kidnapping, and strong-arm robbery, after allegedly forcing Quincy Culberson to drive him to a bank to withdraw $60. Judge Barry Ford remanded the case.
Authorities continue to monitor Culberson’s legal situation as he undergoes treatment, emphasizing rehabilitation alongside accountability for past offenses.
