Ex-Henderson Officer Gregory Durbin Arrested for DUI
Stopped in Evansville with BAC over twice the legal limit

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A former Henderson police officer, Gregory Durbin, 49, was arrested early Sunday morning for drunk driving, according to the Evansville Police Department.

Police say Durbin was driving southbound on Green River Road around 2:53 a.m. with no headlights on, when an officer spotted him. After following him, police pulled him over in the 5200 block of Covert Avenue.

Upon approach, officers reported smelling alcohol and administered a portable breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .186 — more than twice Indiana’s legal limit of 0.08.

Durbin initially claimed he had consumed “a couple beers” four hours earlier, but later admitted to having two drinks just before leaving a friend’s house.

He was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
