Ex-Con Arrested for Serial Burglaries, Credit Card Fraud

Tarice Lamont Smith faces multiple felony charges in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN — Tennessee authorities have arrested 51-year-old Tarice Lamont Smith in connection with a string of burglaries, vehicle thefts, and credit card fraud.

Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detectives apprehended Smith on Thursday night, charging him with 12 counts of identity theft, 14 counts of credit card fraud, one count of burglary, burglary of a motor vehicle, criminal impersonation, four counts of theft, and two probation violations.

Investigators said Smith targeted fitness centers and vehicles, stealing cash and credit cards. Police located him at a motel on Elm Hill Pike, where he was found in possession of the stolen property.

Smith is a registered ex-convict with prior convictions for burglary, theft, credit card fraud, and forgery across multiple Tennessee counties. MNPD officials stated that his arrest follows a thorough investigation by Violent Crime detectives in coordination with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Authorities have not released information regarding his bail or court dates.
