EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) — Darrell Rhodes Jr., 37, was arrested by Evansville Police after allegedly supplying methamphetamine and fentanyl to Vanderburgh County for seven years. Rhodes now faces serious charges, including Manufacturing Meth and Dealing Narcotics.
The investigation began after police received tips from 2018 to 2025 about multiple individuals distributing large amounts of heroin and fentanyl in Evansville. During this period, officers connected Rhodes and six other suspects to several cases involving drug trafficking and gun-related crimes.
The suspects identified as part of the operation included Dareion Ashford, David Gray, Demetres Gray, Dalyn Rhodes, Damon Campbell, and JaJaun Bennett. Police believe the group was operating as a family-run drug distribution network.
The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force led the investigation, which focused on a home in the 100 block of North Bell Avenue. Authorities say David Gray, Darrell Rhodes, and Damon Campbell were frequent visitors to the residence, and Demetres Gray was allegedly tasked with delivering drugs to the property.
The task force’s work resulted in the seizure of over 100 grams of fentanyl and more than 10 pounds of methamphetamine. Further investigation indicated that the drugs came directly from Darrell Rhodes, who is now facing charges related to his significant role in the drug trafficking operation.
