PINE BLUFF, Ark. – A $5,000 bond was set Wednesday for Eugene Wiley, a 58-year-old Pine Bluff man accused of using a company credit card to make unauthorized transactions.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after finding that prosecutors had sufficient probable cause to charge Wiley with theft of property.

According to Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel, the charge stems from an affidavit filed by Detective Sgt. Keith Banks of the Pine Bluff Police Department. Wiley is accused of misusing a credit card issued by his employer to conduct personal transactions.

During the hearing, Akel also noted that Wiley has a prior felony conviction. The judge scheduled his next court appearance for August 6.

No further details were provided regarding the nature or value of the unauthorized purchases.
