HAVELOCK, NC (CRAVEN COUNTY) — A Havelock woman has been charged in connection with a vehicle theft earlier this month, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the vehicle was reported stolen on August 12, 2025. After an investigation by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau, Ethel Smith, 49, of NC 101 Highway, was identified as the suspect.
On August 14, deputies with the Criminal Patrol Bureau located the stolen vehicle and arrested Smith without incident. She was transported to the Craven County Confinement Facility.
At this time, no further details have been released regarding charges or court proceedings.
The case remains under investigation.
