The Fourth Town Police of Anantapur have successfully cracked the Chidananda murder case that occurred five days ago near Ballari bypass. DSP Srinivasa Rao informed the media on Sunday that two suspects, Erukula Lakshmanna and Tumma Shetty Venkata Reddy, have been arrested. Both were co-workers of the victim at the local tomato market yard.
Investigation revealed that the murder was the result of a drunken altercation. Chidananda reportedly made obscene comments about Lakshmanna’s wife while intoxicated. Enraged by this, Lakshmanna and Venkata Reddy allegedly conspired and carried out the murder in retaliation.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that personal vengeance fueled their actions, confirming the motive behind the crime.
