In two separate operations on Sunday, Erode police seized a total of 3.95 kg of ganja and arrested five individuals. Acting on a tip-off regarding ganja sales on Old Karur Road, Surampatti police patrolled the area and spotted two suspicious men.
Upon seeing the police, the men attempted to flee but were apprehended. They were identified as Manikandan (25) and Boopathi (33). Police confirmed that the duo was involved in distributing ganja and recovered 3.5 kg of the drug from them, valued at Rs1.5 lakh.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to uncover more details.
