FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Two men have been arrested in connection with a $10,000 theft from a local Fort Pierce business, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO).
Authorities said that the Patrol Operations Bureau and Criminal Investigations Division worked together to identify and arrest 54-year-old Ernesto Artiles and 46-year-old Maykel Garcia Izada after materials worth around $10,000 were reported stolen from The Porch Factory.
Deputies responded to the scene on October 30, where detectives interviewed witnesses and collected evidence linking both men to the theft.
Artiles, of Fort Pierce, faces grand theft charges involving property valued between $5,000 and $10,000. His alleged accomplice, Izada, of Port St. Lucie, is charged with grand theft involving property valued between $750 and $5,000, according to SLCSO.
During the investigation, detectives recovered a portion of the stolen materials from one of the suspects’ homes. The recovered items have since been returned to The Porch Factory, officials said.
